Two people were arrested in a 9 APBN operation in Bahaddarhat area of Chattogram Panchlaish police station, along with 212 Yaba tablets, 245 grams of hemp and Tk 1,120 for selling drugs.
9 Armed Police Battalion Commander (Additional DIG) Mohammad Shamsul Islam Akand confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
He said that on Monday based on a secret information, two drug peddlers were arrested from the roof of an abandoned and dilapidated building in Najumiya, Chan Mia Street of Bahaddarhat under Chattogram Panchlaish police station.
Among them, 200 pieces of Yaba tablets and 1,120 takas for selling drugs were seized from Md. Ariful Islam Arif (24).
In addition, 245 grams of marijuana and 12 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from Md. Tariqul Islam Emon (24).
This anti-drug operation was conducted under the leadership of Chattogram 9-APBN Assistant Superintendent of Police (Operation and Intelligence) Anshu Kumar Dev along with SI Biplob Chandra Naha Police Force.
After checking the PCPR of the arrested accused Md. Tariqul Islam Emon, a case was found recorded against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Panchlaish Police Station.
