Two armed men in connection with the election violence.
They are: Md. Samsuddin alias Nishan (20), Joynal Abedin alias Ledaiya (47).
They were arrested from Satkania and Noakhali on Sunday night. Both of them were seen shooting at the seventh phase of Khagaria Union Parishad elections in Satkania,
police said.
Chittagong District Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque told a press briefing at the Chittagong Superintendent of Police office on Monday that domestic weapons used by the two gunmen were also recovered. They have been identified by looking at the footage published in various media.
Later, a search of Khagaria Daroga's house turned up 1 single-barreled gun, 1 LG and 2 blue cartridges hidden under the paddy field. SM Rashidul Haque said some miscreants had played an armed role on behalf of various candidates in the Union Parishad elections in Satkania.
Two of them were arrested on Sunday night. A case has been filed against the arrested under the Arms Act. They are being sent to court on Monday showing arrest in the case.
