2 drug traffickers caught

Based on secret information of a group of drug traffickers smuggling drugs in the area adjacent to Sea Beach under Patenga Police Station, a special operation was conducted by BCG Base Chittagong members in the area on Thursday.

Two drug traffickers were detained with 16,000 pieces of yaba tablets, 68 cans of beer, 4 bottles of vodka, 3 bottles of whiskey, 2 bottles of red label, 2 bottles of passport scotch, 3 bottles of Absolute Citron, 1 bottle of Absolute Mango, 1 bottle of Absolute Mango, 9 packets of mini Cigarettes (303), 19 packets of cigarettes (marble), 27 (small puria) cannabis and 200 litters of Bengali liquor at the time.

 The detainees were identified as Mohammad Osman, 30, son of Abdul Sattar and Mohammad Iqbal, 35, son of late Abdul Gafur of Moina Gazi's house in West Raipur of Anwara. They were taking the seized drugs for smuggling from one place to another. 

The detained drug traffickers and seized drugs have been handed over to Patenga police station for further legal action.  In addition to maintaining law and order and public safety in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, the Coast Guard will continue its operations to control piracy, robbery and drug trafficking in future as well.
