2 drug peddlers held with 35-kg hemp

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 in a raid on Sunday arrested a drug peddler with thirty five g hemp from Daudkandi are on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla district.

Commanding officer of RAB-11 Lieutenant Colonel Imranullah Sarker at his office at Adamzi in Narayanganj briefs the media over the apprehension procedure.

Acting on tip off, RAB conducted raid on highway at Daudkandi area set up a check post and searched a vegetable loaded Narayanganj bound pickup van and recovered 35kg ganja also captured a drug peddler. RAB also seized the narcotics carrier covert van.

The arrestee was identified as Mafizuddin, 35, resident of Dharmapur village in Cumilla district. RAB claimed that in primary interrogation the arrestee apparently admits he is a professional drug vender and he brought it from the border area and supply in Narayanganj and Dhaka.

A criminal case has recorded with the concern police station under Narcotics Control Act in this regard.
