The driver of a pickup van and his assistant were killed as the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch in Sadar Upazila of Lakshmipur on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as driver Md Nurunnabi and his assistant Md Siraj. They were the residents in Char Manosha area in Sadar Upazila.
Police said the accident occurred at around 2:30 pm in Chatkir Shako area on Lakshmipur-Ramgati road as the driver lost his control over the steering, leaving Nurunnabi dead on the spot while Siraj breathed his last at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Lakshmipur Sadar Thana Moslehuddin said they seized the pickup van.
