Jashore Sadar outpost Police have detained two drug peddlers along with 2 thousand pieces of yaba and 2.5 lakh taka in cash from Chachra area on Wednesday night. The detainees are - Rabiul Islam Rabi 30, son of Sheikh Raich Uddin of Majher Para Village under Sharsha upazila and Shahabul Islam 34, son of Noor Ali Sardar of Sharsa Bazar area. A case was filed against the arrestees with Kotwali police station.
In-chargeTushar Mondal of Sadar outpost said upon receiving secret information of a drug dealer coming to Jashore with a large quantity of Yaba tablets from Sharsh, they took position in the suburban Chachra checkpoint. Police first arrested Rabiul when he got off the bus and headed for Chachra. His body was searched and 2,000 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from him. Later Shahabul was detained from the same area acoording to Rabiul’s confession.
They recovered Tk 2 lakh 76 thousand, yaba-selling money from shahabul’s possession.
