Andrew Kishore is the king of playback music. He is suffering from cancer. He left for treatment in Singapore on 9th September. The National Film Award recipient is currently under treatment at Singapore’s General Hospital under the supervision of Lim Sun Thai.
When he went to seek treatment for hormonal problems, he was diagnosed with cancer after examination. According to Andrew Kishore's disciple musician Momin Biswas, the condition of the artiste is now imrpoving after taking treatment for two and a half months.
Momin posted on social media platform Facebook after talking to Andrew Kishore about his physical condition. So far, he has completed 12 chemotherapy sessions in five cycles. The next cycle of chemotherapy will start from November 26, and doctors said that 12 more chemotherapy sessions will be completed on three more cycles. Doctors said his treatment would last about two and a half to three months more according to Momin.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited Andrew Kishore to the Ganabhaban on September 8 before going to Singapore. At that time, she asked about Andrew Kishore's physical problems and handed over a check for 10 lakh taka for his treatment. It was revealed that, in the meantime, the authorities of a private channel have paid additional 10 lakh taka to assist in the treatment of the artiste.
Momin further stated that another 2 crore taka is needed to complete Andrew Kishore’s treatment. He urged everyone in the country to come forward to help Andrew Kishore. Already, expatriate Bangladeshis have created a fund to raise money for his treatment.
