Bangladesh on Thursday registered 2,617 new cases of coronavirus, and 44 deaths in the last 24 hours.
During the period till 8am, 1,782 patients recovered from hospital.
With that, the number of total cases rose to 269,115, deaths 3,557 and recoveries 154,871.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a statement said 13,162 samples had been tested across Bangladesh during the period.
So far 13,15,901 samples have been tested in Bangladesh since January.
The government first confirmed the disease on March 8 and the first death on March 18. The WHO declared the disease pandemic on March 11.
The virus has killed 747,584 people globally and infected 20,827,622 so far.
Of the latest victims, 31 were men and 13 were women. Forty-one of them have died in different hospitals and three at their respective homes.
Of them, 19 were from Dhaka, six from Chattogram, two from Rangpur, seven from Khulna, three from Barishal, three from Rajshahi and four from Sylhet division.
The death rate among the confirmed cases is 1.32 percent in Bangladesh while the recovery rate is 57.54 percent.
