Chuadanga District Food Office has fixed to procure 2,255 metric tons of aman paddy from the farmers and 3,834 metric tons of rice from owners of paddy husking mills in 4 upaizilas of Chuadanga disrict in the fiscal year of 2022-23. The schedule of procurement of Aman paddy and rice will be extended for achievement the target.
Of the total 341 metric tons of Aman paddy has been fixed to procure in sadar upazila, 1,058 metric tons in Alamdanga upazila, 459 metric tons in Damurhuda upazila and 397 metric tons in Jibannagar upazila.
Meanwhile, upazila wise breaks up of rice procurement are-438 metric tons in sadar upazila, 612 metric tons in Alamdanga upazila, 325 metric tons in Damurhuda upazila and 2,414 metric tons in Jibannagar upazila.
It is learnt from the food department, the department has foxed to buy Aman paddy at tk. 28 per kg and of Aman rice at tk. 42 per kg from farmers and owners of husking mills.
AKM Shahidul Islam, District Food Officer (in-charge) of Chuadanga District Food Office said, procurement schedule has been declared from November 22, 2022 to February 28, 2023. If the target of procurement is not achieve for the mentioned time, the schedule of procurement will be extended for achievement in the target.
