A total of 1,947 insolvent film, radio and television artistes, technologists and concerned employees were given donation from Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, reports BSS.
A total of 1,947 singers, artistes, producers, directors and employees of different categories at Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and film arena were given a total of Taka 48,67,500 donation, PM’s Press Wing sources said today. Each of them gets Tk 2,500.
Among the recipients, 165 people are of Bangladesh Television (BTV)’s Cameraman Association of Bangladesh, 42 employees of Bangladesh Shooting House Owners Association, 117 of Shooting Unit Microbus Drivers Cooperatives Association, 447 of Bangladesh Media Light-man Association and 110 of Television Media Makeup Artist Associations.
Of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), 231 are of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association, 80 of Bangladesh Film Makeup Artistes Association, 42 of Bangladesh Chalachitra Angosojjakar Samity, 15 of Bangladesh Film Assistant Art Directors Association, 88 of Bangladesh Media Light-man Association, 35 of Cine Still Photographers Association, 256 of Bangladesh Film Assistant Managers Association, 325 cinema hall employees and three employees of Directors Guild.
Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association general secretary Zayed Khan extended thanks and gratitude to the prime minister for standing beside the artistes and performers in this crisis period.
By extending the cooperation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again proved that she is a humanitarian leader, he said.
In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, many artistes and employees became insolvent as production of drama and film was stopped and cinema halls were also shut down.
