By using digital technology, 2,000 beneficiaries are being paid various allowances including the Elderly citizen's allowance, Widowed allowance and the Disability allowance in Habiganj town.
As a result of the introduction of the digital system, the sufferings of the allowance receivers have been removed having no scope of irregularities.
The activities of distribution of allowances through using digital technology was organised by district office of the Social Welfare Department at the conference room of Habiganj Municipality on Monday noon.
Presided over by Habibur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Service, Habiganj, the inaugural function was attended, among others, by Advocate Abu Zahir, Member of Parliament of Habiganj-3 constituency as the chief guest, Mijanur Rahman, Mayor of Habiganj Municipality as special guest and the councillors of the municipality.
Social Welfare Department sources in Habiganj informed, lists of some 2,000 allowance receivers including the elderly allowance, widowed allowance and disability allowance have been preserved in the on line and the amount of allowance-money will be entered into their mobile phones in due time. The system will remove the sufferings of the allowance receivers and there will be no scope of irregularities in distributing the allowances.
