Noted actress and playwright Hridi Haq is all set to make her directorial debut with the much anticipated government-granted film, ‘1971 Shei Shob Din’. The film is set to release today.
During a press event held at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy a few days ago, Hridi Haq announced the film’s release and also released the teaser and trailer of the film.
As part of the promotion of the film, the team met with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and handed over the poster.
The film revolves around a family’s experiences during 1971, providing a poignant portrayal of the era.
Apart from directing, Hridi Haq, herself features in ‘1971 Shei Shob Din’, alongside a talented ensemble cast comprising Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Munmun Ahmed, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Ferdous, Tareen, Litu Anam, Saju Khadem, Sanjida Preeti, and many more. Notably, after a hiatus of 15 years, Litu Anam makes a remarkable comeback to cinema with this film.
In the movie, Ferdous, Litu Anam, and Sajal deliver compelling performances, portraying the roles of three brothers actively engaged in the Liberation War.
“Though our movie is set to release on August 18, we dedicated the press conference on the occasion of my father’s birthday, so that we could give a tribute to him with love and respect. We are very optimistic about the movie. We have invested great care and effort into creating this film. Now, we eagerly wait for the moment when it can be presented to the audience. If all goes well, ‘1971 Shei Shob Din’ will grace the silver screen on August 18,” said Hridi Haq.
Ferodus said, “Hridi and her entire team have shown that a show can be more aesthetic if desired. In this event, an attempt has been made to bring back the old tradition of our cinema through hand-painted movie posters. After watching the teaser, and trailer, I believe the audience will be very interested in watching the movie. I think every citizen of Bangladesh should watch this movie.”
