Durga Puja is being celebrated at 299 puja mandaps in five Upazilas of Panchagarh this year. Among them, 78 puja mandaps are very important and 80 mandaps are important.
A total of 1950 members of Ansar and VDP along with the law enforcers have been performing their duty to safeguard the mandaps for six days since Tuesday.
District Commandant Ali Reza Rabbi briefed the members of the Ansar and VDP on District Ansar and VDP office ground on Monday.
Assistant District Commandant Touhid Uz Zaman, Circle Adjutant Sultana Razia, Upazila Trainer Asmatun Nehar and other officials were also present on the time.
District Commandant Ali Reza Rabbi said blanket security measures have been taken at each mandap on Durga Puja. The members of Ansar and VDP along with police and Army are performing their duties at each mandap. We hope that the people of Sanatan religion will celebrate their biggest religious festival, Durga Puja, peacefully.
