About 19 lakh books are to be distributed among the secondary school students in the district with festivity today on the very first day of the New Year.
District Secondary Education Officer Rebeka Jahan said all necessary preparation for distribution of new books among the students of secondary level were taken, adding that all the secondary schools including madrasas of the district have already collected the text books for distribution on the first of the academic year. District Education Officer (DEO) Rebeka Jahan said a total of 1, 23, 994 students will get 19, 21,098 books free of cost from the government.
