19 film organisations pay homage to Bangabandhu

The 45th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day of August 15 on the martyrdom of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been celebrated at FDC through various Programmes. 

On Saturday morning, 19 organizations of the film industry paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu. Later, leaders and activists of 19 organizations paid homage to Bangabandhu’s portrait with bouquet at Dhanmondi.

The discussion meeting on behalf of 19 organizations started in front of FDC’s Zaheer Raihan Color Lab from 11 am. Actor Shakib Khan, Misha Sawdagor, Riaz, Omar Sunny, Ananta Jalil, Simon Sadiq, Nutan, Rozina, Moushumi, Nipun and Apu Biswas appeared on the stage. 

Producers Association President Khorshed Alam Khasru, Secretary Shamsul Alam and leaders of 19 organizations were also present. President of the Board of Directors Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar hosted over the program.

Speakers on the occasion demanded to keep Bangabandhu above all party views and organizations. They said Bangabandhu is a leader who is above all controversy because he is the father of the nation of Bangladesh. He is the identity of our nationality.

Information Minister Dr.Hasan Mahmud atteaded the meeting at 12 noon. 

The minister said how much damage had been done to the country by killing a leader like Bangabandhu which can never be fulfilled. 

He added, “If we all want Bangabandhu’s dream about Bangladesh, we can implement it even if it is only a little bit. Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is moving forward with that vow. 

This FDC was also made by Bangabandhu. So let’s pledge on the day of mourning that we try to beautify the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream from our position.”

Before the minister’s appearance, Riaz said in his speech, “Bangabandhu is the leader of all of us. We got Bangladesh today because there was a leader like him. Bangabandhu is everyone’s regardless of party or creed.”

Actress Nipun said, “On the day of mourning, I am demanding punishment for the murderers of Bangabandhu who are still alive. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already started this trial and is freeing us from this stigma. Hopefully those who are still out of justice get a fair trial soon.”
