The annual Urs commemorating the 17th death anniversary of Alhaj Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Hamidullah (RA) is being observed at Mia Shaheb's Maidan Darbar Sharif in Luxmibazar, Old Dhaka on Thursday. The spiritual leader was the 8th Gaddinashin Peer of this historic Khankah Sharif.
The day-long program includes Quran recitation, religious discussions, Waz Mahfil, and Milad. After Fajr prayers, the Mazar will be adorned with a new covering (Gilaf). The 9th Gaddinashin Peer, Hazrat Shah Sufi Sayed Ahamadur Rahim, will lead prayers and spiritual discussions about the late saint's life.
Notable Islamic scholars including Mufti Muhammad Jasim Uddin, Maulana Waheeduddin Mohammed Esam, and others will deliver speeches. The event will conclude with special prayers (Akheri Munajat) and distribution of blessed food (Tabarak).
Program convener Saiyed Taiyab Morshed Araf has invited devotees to join the spiritual gathering honoring the revered Sufi saint's legacy.
