The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Sunday (July 30) detained 17 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement.
They seized 566 pieces of Yaba tablets, 3.100gm hemp, and 160 puria heroin from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the statement, a total of 16 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
The DMP said the drive will continue.
