16 Tanore FFs get houses gifted by PM

Lawmaker Omor Faruque Chowdhury, Member of Parliament of Tanore-Godagari constituency, handed over the symbolic key of a house gifted by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Adivasi Freedom Fighter Naika Mardi at a function held at Mohammadpur village under Tanore upazila on Monday.

Fifteen more valiant Freedom Fighters of the upazila were also presented with 15 more houses gifted by the Prime Minister through the function. 

According to sources Adivasi Naika Mardi had been living on 4-decimal of Khas land at Mohammadpur Adivasipara for more than fifty year. For last 10-year, he has been visiting the concerned land office to register the Khas land in his name but failed to do that.

The relentless effort of Naika Mardi of registering the land to his name was published in a newspaper on July-25 this year and the next day, Tanore Upazila Nirbahi Officer Susanta Kumar Mahato visited the house of Naika Mardi and handed over him the gift packages presented by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and assured him to register the land and to make a house there in accor dance with the direction of the Prime Minister.

Within four months of the incident, UNO registered the deed of the house in the name of Naika Mardi and constructed a house on the land at a cost of Taka 200,000.

Local Member of Parliament Omar Faruk Chowdhury handed over the Keys of the houses to Naika Mardi and 15 more Freedom Fighters of the upazila through the function. 

Presided over by Susanta Kumar Mahato, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Tanore, the function was attended, among others, by Tanore Uapzila Parishad Chairman Lutfar Haider Rashid Maina, Vice-Chairman of Tanore upazila Abu Bakker, Assistant Commissioner( land) Shikriti Pramanik, Officer-in-charge of Tanore PS Rakibul Hasan, AL leader Kamruzzaman Chanchal and Abul Bashar Sujon.
