LA cheques were distributed among 16 farmers affected by railway line land acquisition in Magura. After being stuck for a long time, this is the first time that the formalities of railway connection and payment of check from Madhukhali to Magura have started.
The railway line will be constructed at a cost of 114 crores. In the first phase, the District Commissioner Abu Naser Beg distributed Tk 1 crore 86 thousand among the affected farmers.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abu Naser Beg, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Prashanto Kumar Biswas, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner Lands Md Saddam Hossain, Abhidas, Nabik Kaiser,Divisional Engineer Bangladesh Railway Division Pakshi were present at the LA check distribution ceremony while Apurbo Kumar Biswas, Kachundi Union Parishad Chairman Md. Abu Kashem Mollah present among others.
During the check distribution ceremony, many local farmers expressed their gratitude to the government for receiving LA cheques in such a short time without any compensation.
The contractor of the railway line construction project says that the work of railway line from Magura to Madhukhali is going on. Moreover, there was a land acquisition site for the railway line from Faridpur to Kamarkhali. Due to the closure of this section during the Great War of Independence, train services stopped. For a long time the lands of the railway line were lying fallow. Due to the complications of land acquisition, the work of the railway line has stopped. It is not possible to work if the contractor does not get the land.Magura and Madhukhali rail line project will be visible by early 2025 after completion of land acquisition.
Magura Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abu Nasser Beg said that the work of the Magura and Madhukhali railway line project is ongoing to maintain the continuity of the government's development. LA checks have been distributed among the affected farmers. One hundred more checks will be issued in the future. After the completion of the land acquisition, the contractor will start the construction of the railway line.
