The 15th session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) is beginning today. President Md Abdul Hamid on October 27 called the session.
Before the House goes into the session at 4:00pm, the business advisory committee of the Parliament will sit in a meeting to fix duration and businesses of the 15th session.
The Parliament sources said that it was planned to hold a ‘special discussion’ on the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence during the 15th session. President Md Abdul Hamid may also give a speech at the session.
The parliament advisory committee will set the agenda of the special discussion after Leader of the House Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns to the country from abroad. Whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon said that there will be a special discussion on the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence and the President may give a speech.
In November last year, the Parliament called a special session for the first time in the country on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
President Hamid gave a speech on the life and achievements of Bangabandhu in that special session.
