15th AGM of Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry held

The 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) has successfully held at Dhaka Club in the capital on Wednesday. 

The BCCCI President Gazi Golam Murtoza said they have been playing a significant role in trade and investment between Bangladesh and China since 2003.

"We have to overcome many challenges following Covid-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war, and dollar rate jumped against taka. Amid many challenges, we continue our BCCCI's activities successfully," he also said.

Murtoza added that the bridge between Bangladesh and China has created a new opportunity in terms of trade and investment.

The BCCCI Acting Secretary General Al Mamun Mridha said they came trade and investment relation between the two countries in an apex level through their innovative activities.

"However, we arranged a series of events in online and offline during the pandemic period. We discussed government and private stakeholders about policy and trade. We hope our relation with China friends will more strengthen in coming days," Mamun also said.

He also added that a big opportunity has in China market for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. 

The president of Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) Ke Changliang said the infrastructure of Bangladesh has developed immensely. Many China companies played significant role here.

"We are working in Bangladesh for long for social and economic development. We speed up our relation with Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi entrepreneurs have a great chance in China market," he also said.

The  Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman urged China investors to invest more in Bangladesh.

"Bangladesh is an investment potential place for foreign investments in overall perspective. We will build 100 economic zones to diversify products and export. So, there are huge scope for investment, " he added

Kalam also said they will work cordially with BCCCI to support for further promoting trade and investment.

The Executive Member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Avijit Chowdhury said Bangladesh has congenial atmosphere for investment.

"We hope the BCCCI will work so that reinvestment comes more in Bangladesh in future. We have to think that how much facilities can be taken through relationship. Bangladesh government is much business and investment friendly," he added.

The Senior Vice President of BCCCI Brig Gen Shah Md Sultan Uddin Iqbal, among others also spoke in the 15th AGM.
