158 Keshabpur pry schools receive Tk 2.17 crore

In Keshabpur upazila of Jashore, 158 primary schools have received an allocation of Tk 2.17 crore for repair work, room furnishing and for pre-primary. 

According to Keshabpur Upazila Primary Education Office, a total of 158 government primary schools in the upazila have received an allocation of Tk 83.60 lakh from the Slip Fund. 

In addition, a total of Tk 1 crore 16 lakh to 58 schools, Tk 40 lakh to 100 schools for routine maintenance, Tk 1 lakh 80 thousand for washing in 16 schools and Tk 15 lakh 80 thousand for pre-primary in 158 schools has been allocated.

In the meantime, the work in favour of the allocation for the schools is near complete. Ismot Ara, headmaster of Keshabpur Model Government Primary School, said, "I have received an allocation of Tk 1.38 lakh for equipping classrooms in my school which is being spent through the sub-committee as per the manual comprising the members of the managing committee of the school. 

Nazmul Huda Babu, GS of the Upazila Primary Teachers' Association, told reporters that the  money allocated for 158 educational institutions in the upazila is being spent through the constant supervision of six assistant education officers in six clusters. 

Upazila Education Officer Abdul Jabbar said the present government is very sincere about primary education. Due to which Tk 2 crore 17 lakh 20 thousand has been allocated for the repair, equipping and pre-primary of primary schools in Keshabpur.
