Fifteen competitors have won the third season of the ‘Spa Tour de Rainbow’ photography competition was recently organized by drinking water brand Spa of Akij Group. Fifteen competitors have won the competition. The competition was organised for young photographers of the country, will have the opportunity to travel to Cherrapunji, India, for four nights and three days, with renowned photographers accompanying them, according to a press release.
The competition entailing 4300 students, professional and non-professional photographers, displayed 11,960 photographs categorized in accordance to landscape, macro and pictures of nature. A grand photography exhibition was organized in the gallery of National Museum by drawing 90 best pictures from the lot. From there, 15 photographers were selected as winners. Photographers Asaf ud Daula, Md Shafiqul Alam Kiron and Azim Khan Ronnie were the judges in this competition. Earlier, seminars on photography were organized at various universities of Dhaka including South East University, South Asia University, Stamford University, United University of Bangladesh, Independent University of Bangladesh.
About the competition, Akij Food and Beverage Ltd’s Assistant General Manager Mohammad Maidul Islam said, “Among the branches of art and literature, photography is currently very popular and well respected. Sometimes a picture says more than articulations. The incredible beauty of Bangladesh was eternalized through the pictures that were taken during the competition. Our event was aimed to encourage photography among young photographers across the country.”
The competition was organized to create a platform to showcase how young photographers view natural beauty through the lens of their camera.
