‘Jano Udyog,’ a civic society of Mymensingh city organized a press conference at the local Press Club in the morning of Saturday last in support of their 15-point demand that includes keeping starting point of Bijoy Express bound for Chattogram at Mymensingh junction as earlier.
Convener of ‘Jano Udyog’Advocate Nazrul Islam Chunnu read out a written statement in the press conference.
Among others, Dr Motiur Rahman Bhuiya, District President, BMA, Adv Abdul Motalleb Lal, General Secretary, District Unit of Sommilito Sangskritik Jote, freedom fighter Abul Kasem, Prof Lutfunnahar and Motiur Rahman Faisal.
Zilla Nagirik Andolan and Unnayan Sangram Parishad formed a human chain at Firoz-Jahangir Chattar in Mymensingh city on the same demand. Their other demands were to bring Sherpur district under Rail connectivity, launching of more than one inter-districts train services on on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazarrail route
and reopen 10 rail stations in Mymensingh.
