Rangpur division recorded 44.12 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as 15 fresh cases were diagnosed after testing 34 new samples on Monday.
Health officials said fresh Covid-19 cases have been reported everyday since June 22 last in the division where the third wave of the lethal virus is continuing now.
The 15 new Covid-19 patients include four from Rangpur and 11 from Dinajpur districts in the division.
"With the diagnosis of the 15 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,369 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told the national news agency. The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 62,794 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Monday.
The number of casualties remained steady at 1,284 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours.
Till Monday, a total of two crore 98 lakh 52 thousand and 399 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered as the first, second and booster doses in the division.
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,58,560 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,23,319 as the second doses and 33,70,520 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam added. He urged people to sincerely abide by the health directives and hygiene rules as the pandemic situation continues to deteriorate in the division.
