15 DU students awarded AF Mujibur Rahman Gold Medal

Fifteen meritorious students of the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Applied Mathematics of Dhaka University (DU) have been given ‘AF Mujibur Rahman Gold Medal’ for their outstanding academic results in BS (Hons.) and MS examinations.  Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed this Gold Medal among the students as the chief guest at a function held today November 30, 2022 at the AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban auditorium.  

Chairman of the Department of Mathematics of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad and Trustee of the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Prof. Dr. Naila Kabeer addressed it as special guests. Chairman of the Department of Applied Mathematics Prof. Dr. Md. Showkat Ali delivered welcome address. One of the trustees of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Khushi Kabir was also present on this occasion. 

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to be skilled with the combination of academic excellence and high level humanitarian and moral values. The students have to utilize their knowledge for the betterment of human being as well as development of socio-economic condition in the country, he added. 

He called upon the students to play an effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country. 

The recipients of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Gold Medal are Md. Jasim Uddin, Rumana Binta Azgor, Adeeb Shahriar Zaman, Ibtida Tahera Aziz, Shah Mohammad Suza-Ud-Doula, Asma Akter Akhi, Monica Islam Khan, Md. Shorif Hossain, Nazia Afrin, Suchi Chaki, Md. Rifat Hasan Rubel, Shariful Islam, Sadia Anjum Jamuna, Sabrina Rashid and Md. Masud Rana.
