A fifteen-day tree plantation campaign and tree fair began on Saturday in Sylhet district with the slogan of 'Let's do planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh.'
On this occasion, a colorful rally was brought out this afternoon from Rikabi Bazar which ended on the fair premises of Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa Field parading main streets of the city.
Sylhet Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Md. Humayun Kabir, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of the Sylhet District Administration Suborna Sarkar, General Secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan BNP Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, Joint Convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP) Sylhet District Abu Sayeed, officials of the Sylhet Divisional and District Administration, Forest Department and teachers and students of various schools and colleges were present at the event.
A total of 56 stalls have been set up at the fair organized by the Sylhet Forest Department in cooperation with the district administration.
