15 candidates declared valid in Jamalpur

The District Returning Officer cancelled the nomination papers of 5 more people in two constituencies in Jamalpur.  The nomination papers of 15 people have been declared valid.

Jamalpur-4 Sarishabari Constituency: Awami League candidate Mahbubur Rahman, independent candidate former state information minister Dr. Murad Hasan, independent candidate Abdur Rashid, Jatiya Party's AbulKalam Azad, JasderGholam Mustafa Jinnah, Zaker Party's SM Rabiul Islam and Trinamul BNP's MdSaiful Islam.  Independent candidate Chanowar Hossain Badsha and BNF's TarikhMahadi have canceled nominations for this seat.

Jamalpur-5 Sadar Constituency: Awami League candidate former Chief Secretary AbulKalam Azad, Jatiya Party's Zakir Hossain Khan, Jatiya Party JP's Babar Ali Khan, Independent Rezaul Karim Reznu, National People's Party's Rafiqul Islam, Bangladesh Supreme Party's Sabiruzzaman, Zaker  Party's Syed MonirulHaque Noble, Bangladesh Congress's Abu Sayem Md. Sa-adatul Karim.

Engineer Md Ali who claimed himself as candidate of Awami League, independent Zakir Hossain and candidate of Bangladesh Congress Abdul Karim Sarkar were canceled in this seat.

District Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md. Shafiur Rahman said that a total of 38 people filed nomination papers in 5 parliamentary constituencies of Jamalpur.  In the last two days, the nominations of 25 people have been validated.  And the nomination papers of 13 people have been cancelled.

Three nominations valid in Banshkhali

Our Banshkhali Correspondentwrites, as the 12th parliamentary elections approach, the storm of discussion and criticism is increasing. The residents of Chattogram'sBanshkhali Upazila have participated in election discussions from every neighbourhood.  

Although many candidates submitted their nomination papers in this election, the nomination papers of 3 of them were declared valid.

The candidates whose nomination papers were declared valid during the scrutiny of nomination papers on Monday are- current Member of Parliament Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, candidate for Awami League's boat symbol, Mujibur Rahman CIP, vice-president of Chattogram South District Awami League and owner of a renowned industrial institution of the countryand Abdullah KabirLiton, leader of South District Awami League.

 According to the locals, even though BNP did not participate in the election this time, there are those two Awami League leaders who are independent candidates to block the path of current parliamentarian Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, who is the candidate of Awami League's boat symbol.  As a result, a different mood will appear in this election.
