15,000 destitutes get food aid before Eid in Rajbari

Kazi Iradat Ali, General Secretary of Rajbari district Awami League, distributed food items among 15,000 destitute, uprooted, day laborers and lower-middle-income people who lost their jobs due to corona pandemic.

Kazi Iradat officially handed over 11,000 packets and 1,000 masks in the first phase at Gold Asia Jute Mills on Sunday morning, for distribution in 18 unions of Rajbari Sadar Upazila, Goalanda Upazila and 2 municipalities. Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Dilsad Begum, Superintendent of Police MM Shakilazzaman, NSI DD Shariful Islam, Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary Arup Dutta Holly, Publicity Secretary Afv Shafiqul Hossain, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Ramzan Ali Khan and Rajbari Municipal Awami League General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Safi, Municipal Awami League office secretary Md Fazlul Haque Abu, Joint General Secretary Md Saiful Islam Sohag and others were present there.

Deputy Commissioner Dilsad Begum said Kazi Iradat Ali, general secretary of Rajbari district Awami League, has been by the side of helpless people since the beginning of the corona pandemic last year. 

“He immediately gave me what I wanted for the district administration. I could not start Corona unit at Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex due to manpower crisis. Kazi Iradat Ali Saheb managed 10 people including volunteers and cleaners for the unit shortly after. He deserves praise for the food he is distributing now”, she added.
