146 cases filed against lockdown violators in Rajshahi

The mobile courts in Rajshahi have filed 146 cases and collected Tk 152,100  as fine from the violators of the lockdown from last Thursday to 2-00 pm Saturday.

Rajshahi district administration sources informed on the first day of starting of the 'strict lockdown' on Thursday 50 cases were filed against the violators and Tk 66,750 fine was realised from them, on Friday 66 cases were filed and Tk 67,750 was realised as fine and till 2-00 pm Saturday 30 cases were filed and Tk 17,600 was realised as fine from the violators of the lockdown.

In addition to police, members of RAB, Army, BGB and Ansars were seen to control movement of people and vehicles as a part to enforce the lockdown. 

However, on Saturday, more rickshaws were seen moving through city streets than the previous last two-day. At noon, RMP Commissioner Abu KalamSiddique, Additional Deputy Magistrate Abu Aslam and Commander of RAB-5, Rajshahi Lt Col Ziaur Rahman Talukderwere seen to visit Rajshahi city areas to observe the lockdown situation. 

It is learnt, a total of 18 mobile courts were acting in nine upazilas of Rajshahi district to ensure lockdown in the district. Moreover, four mobile courts are in operation in Rajshahi city.
