14 rescued while being trafficked

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Friday rescued 14 Bangladeshi people, including five children, from human traffickers at Baroachra border under Benapole Port Police Station in Jashore. They hail from different areas of Narail and Faridpur district.

Lt. Col Salim Reja, commanding officer of 49 Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion, said the border guards rescued five women and nine men while they were being trafficked from India. Sensing the presence of the BGB men, the human traffickers managed to flee the scene. They were handed over to Benapole Port police station . A case was filed in this connection.
