Leaders of 14-party alliance led by the ruling Awami League on Monday vowed to resist all the conspiracies of thwarting the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary elections.

They came up with this announcement at a rally jointly organised by the 14 parties in front of the AL’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in capital Dhaka.

At the rally, the alliance leaders said that anti-liberation forces and conspirators at home and abroad have been hatching conspiracies to thwart the upcoming national elections and disrupt the development of the country. But, their ill-motivated attempt will not succeed and the conspiracy would be resisted through dealing with them on the political field.

The 14-party alliance organised the rally under the banner of ‘Peace Rally Against Terrorism and Anarchy’.

The coordinator and spokesman of the 14 party alliance, Amir Hossain Amu, also a member of the advisory council of Awami League, presided over the meeting. Leaders and activists of all the 14 parties attended the rally from different areas of the capital city Dhaka.

Amir Hossain Amu in the speech said that the next election will be held as per the constitution of the country.

“Those who are talking about amending the constitution want to bring this constitution back to the ideology of Pakistan.  And BNP is trying to turn Bangladesh to Pakistan again”, he said.

The alliance leaders said no conspiracy can stand on this land and none will have the courage to stop the election as the people of Bangladesh are united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, Workers Party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Jatiya Somajtantrik Dal general secretary Shirin Akhter, Ganotantri Party general secretary Shahadat Hossain, Tarikat Federation vice-chairman Tayabul Bashar and Gano Azadi League leader SK Sikder, among others, addressed the rally.
