A Madrasa principal and other 13 members of the Jamaat-e-Islami's female student front Islami Chhatri Sangstha were arrested in Sadar upazila of Pabna on Sunday night. Police arrested the people from a house of a two-storied building at road no-5 in Mansurabadh residential area of the district.
The arrestee are house owner and principal of Dhulauri Kamil Madrasa of Santhia upazila Md Anwar Hossain, Most. Rabeya Khatun, daughter of Abdul Majid hailed from Gopalpur village under Belkuchi Police Station of Sirajganj district, Arifa Khatun daughter of Ataul Rahman hailed from Kolagachi village, Tanjila Khatun daughter of Abdul Malek, Luna Khatun hailed from Modhyopara village under Gabtoli Police Station of Bogura district, Sharshin daughter of Shamsuzzaman, Taslima Khatun Suriya, Mahfuja, Nazma Khatun, Most. Lucky, Shamima Nasrin, Fatema, Asmaul Hosna and wife of Alauddin Most Ruma Khatun hailed from Mirpur-13 under Kafrul Police Station of Dhaka.
Officer-In-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station Nasim Ahmed said they raided the house upon information that the arrestees were holding secret meeting there. The law enforcers also recovered a huge number of jihadi books and new members and fund collection forms from their possessions, OC Nasim added. The arrestee sent to jail after their primary interrogation, OC added.
