The 130th death anniversary of mystic poet Paglakanai was obserbved in Jhenidah on Friday.
Paglakanai Srity Sangrsakkhan Sangsahad organised a day long programme at the birth place of the poet at Berebari village of Jhenidah Sadar upazila on Friday.
Upazila parishad arranged competition of the children on drawing, recitation and book reading.
Paglakanai Srity Sangrakkhan Sangsahad organizers said upazila parishad chairman, also the general secretary of the sangshad advocate Abdur Rashid, upazila nirbahi officer Shammi Islam, Bangladesh Krishal League Jhenidah district unit president Sajedul Islam Soam, general secretary Ashraful Islam, Paglakanai union parishad chairman Nazrul Islam and headmaster of Berbari high school Asaduzzaman among others were present on the inaugural session during placing floral wreaths at the majar of the poet in the morning. A number of singers of poet Paglakanai were also present for eternal peace of the departed soul.
The speakers said thoudsands of items of the song including Dhua, Jari, Sari etc. composed by the the nature poet Paglakanai are sung by the fans and followers of the poet throughouout the country and some other parts of neighboring India. The sons were composed by the cowboy poet stating the mysterious activities of the creator of the world “Almighty Allah”.
The songs of the illustrate poem have been inspiring the peace loving-people as the human being are the most important issue to Allah, they said.
