13 more train pairs will run across country from today

Bangladesh Railway is operating 12 new pairs of intercity and one pair of commuter trains. Due to Corona, 17 pairs of trains are running all over the country, 13 more pairs of trains will run from today.

According to railway sources, there are currently 34 intercity trains (up and down) running. From today, 12 pairs of intercity and one pair of commuter trains are being launched. The trains will run according to their old schedule. The trains that are being launched today are Ekota Express, Sundarban Express, Padma Express, Parabat Express, Haor Express, Agnibeena Express, Titumir Express, Mahanagar Express, Bijoy Express, Upakul Express, Simanto Express, Jamalpur Express and Tungipara Express.

According to the railway authorities, the wheels of all the trains will be operational by August 31. Keeping in mind the risk of corona, all train tickets are still being sold online. However, from today, other passengers will not be able to travel on a ticket issued with one’s national identity card.

Passenger trains have been suspended since March 24 due to the Corona situation. At that time some freight trains were running. On May 31, eight pairs of intercity trains were launched in the first phase. In the second phase on June 3, 11 more intercity trains were added. However, after a while, two pairs of trains stopped running due to passenger crisis.
