Agriculture Department will disburse incentive among small and marginal farmers on jute in the district in the upcoming Kharip season-1.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension office 13600 small and marginal farmers in all the seven Upazilas of the district will get the incentive.
The office said each of the farmers will get one kilogram jute seed for cultivation one Bigha of land.
The incentive will disburse among 1600 farmers in 4200 farmers in Islampur, Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, 2000 farmers in Sarishabari, 1000 farmers in Melandah, 2500 farmers in Dewanganj, 1200 farmers in Madarganj and 1100 farmers in Bakshiganj Upazila.
Deputy Director of Seed Marketing, a wing of BADC, Badar Uddin Bhuiya said BADC will supply 13600 kilogram Tosha variety jute seed under the incentive programme. He said the seed will be disbursed soon.
