A total of 126 poor and distressed people were given financial support worth Taka 5 lakh here today aimed at removing their economic hardship.
Lawmaker Alhaj Kazim Uddin Ahamed, from the government optional fund, distributed the cheques of Taka 5 lakh among the beneficiaries of the upazila at a function held at the upazila auditorium yesterday evening as chief guest.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Khatun, Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Abul Kalam Azad, President of Bangabandhu Foundation upazila unit Alhaj Abdur Rahman, officers, employees and leaders of local Awami League were present.
