Bangladesh registered 12 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,192 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 11, 434 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,664,616, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The current positivity rate rose to 28.49 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 13.77 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.70 percent in the country, added the release.
Among the 12 deceased, six were from Dhaka and two were from Sylhet division. One each were from Chattogram, Khulna, Rongpur and Mymensingh
A total of 41,134 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
Some 752 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,555, 597 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 93.57 percent.
As of Friday, 5,595,418 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 343,687,537 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
