A team of Sadarght Naval Police in a series of drive seized 12,000 meters current net from different points of Halda River under Raozan upazila in Chattogram district.
This series of drives were conducted on Sunday in the area.
The police team led by ABM Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Naval police conducted the drive at the estuary of Halda river and seized the net. Mizanur Rahman said regular drives will be conducted to protect the only natural fish breeding ground of the country.
It is to be mention that Halda River as the only natural fish breeding ground, plays a very important role to keep the natural fish species of the country thrive. Many fishermen including unethical businessmen try to catch fish, fry from Halda River which is illegal.
