Railway authorities have evicted more than a hundred illegal structures built on the site of the railway. The operation was carried out from noon to afternoon on Wednesday in the railway colony area west of Ishwardi Railway Junction Station in Pabna.

The eviction operation was conducted by the Executive Magistrate Nuruzzaman of the Western Railway and the real estate officer of the Pakshi Railway Department.

A large number of police from the real estate department of the railways and the police administration were present at the time.

Md. Nuruzzaman said the illegal occupants were asked to remove the installation by giving several notices and miking in the area. Even then, if they did not remove the installation, therefore the eviction operation was carried out.

With the eviction of illegal installations, 110 power connections of the installations were disconnected. Apart from this, the goods of the warehouse of Sri Sri Hare Krishna Sangha Mandir in Kachari Para were seized and sold at auction.

Three occupants named To fail Hossain, Sumon and Masum  were detained for obstructing the eviction drive.

However, the occupiers complained that they were living in the place of the railway by paying to some influential local people. They were not given any notice by the railways before the eviction.
