106,982 Covid-19 patients cured in Khulna

A total of 59 more people were cured from Covid-19 in the division during the last 24 hours till Monday, taking the recovery cases to 1,06,982 since the pandemic began in March last year. 

On the other hand, 37 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in the division on the day, climbing the number of infected cases to 1,12,285, said Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akther said on Monday. 

“The percentage of recovered Covid-19 patients stands at 95.27 in the division,” Dr. Ferdousi Akther said. 

“We received 527 samples of suspected coronavirus patients at KMC in Khulna and other samples in Jashore and Kustia laboratories in the last 24 hours and 37 of those were found COVID-19 positive,” she added. 

The newly detected 37 COVID-19 patients include 13 in Kushtia, eight in Jashore, four each in Khulna and Jhenaidah, three in Satkhira, two in Meherpur, one each in Bagerhat, Narail and Magura district. 

Of the total 1,12,285 patients, 27,876 are in Khulna, 21,647 in Jashore, 18,521 in Kushtia, 9,468 in Jhenaidah,7,127 in Bagerhat, 6,888 in Chuadanga, 6,884 in Satkhira, 4,970 in Narail, 4,750 in Meherpur, 4,154 in Magura, she said. 

At the same time, a total of 3,143 fatalities were reported with two new deaths in the last 24 hours. 

Among the total fatalities, 797 are in Khulna, 771 in Kushtia, 495 in Jashore, 266 in Jhenaidah, 189 in Chuadanga, 180 in Meherpur, 144 in Bagerhat, 121 in Narail, 90 in Magura and 88 in Satkhira districts in the division.
