A total of 10 business establishments were gutted in a fire that broke out at Amin Market of Chowmuhoni bazar area under Anwara upazila of Chattogram district on Monday.
Md Abdullah, Deputy Assistant Director of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defense office said that the fire originated from an electric short circuit from a shop in the area at around 12.45 am and quickly engulfed the adjacent shops.
Four firefighting units from Anwara and CUFL area rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 5 am on Monday morning.
Victim Abdul Alam and local fire service officials claimed that the fire damaged properties worth about Taka Ten lakh.
