A 10-month old baby in Chattogram has been detected with corona virus. The infected child's home is in Joara village of Chandnaish upazila.
The number of corona infected patients in the district now stands at 40. Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) has tested 4 people corona positive out of 140 people. This information was given by Chattogram Divisional Health Director Dr. Hasan Shahriar Kabir on Tuesday night.
He said that BITID has identified 4 people with corona virus infection. Among them, there is a 10 month old baby of East Joara Ward No. 3 under Chandnaish Police Station of the district. The other 3 patients have been identified in Bandarban district. BITID tested 1,720 samples and so far, 75 patients have been identified with the virus infection.
Total victims in Chattogram district stands at 40 now. 5 in Noakhali, 25 in Laxmipur, 2 in Feni and 4 in Bandarban district. According to the Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office, 9 people were infected in Satkania Upazila till Tuesday night. The most infected people were found in Sagarika area under Pahartali police station and among the residents of Dampara under Khulshi police station. Five corona patients have died till now in Chattogram.
