Ten bicycle riders started their journey from Kolkata, India to Dhaka Central Shahid Minar to lay flowers on the altar of language martyrs. Today Sunday they crossed Magura to go to Dhaka via Faridpur. They stopped at a hotel in Magura city on Saturday night.

A travel agency named 100 Miles of Kolkata is the initiator of this great journey. Swarjit Roy, leader of this organization and team leader of the bicycle team, said that February is International Mother Language Day. It is the second largest language in India. 300 million people in the world also speak this language. Bengali is one of the 22 recognized official languages of India.

The people of Bangladesh have given their blood for this language. So we have been coming to Bangladesh since 2012 to pay respect to those martyrs. I could not come to Bangladesh for two years due to the corona epidemic. This time, a total of 10 people came. Out of which 10 people will go to Dhaka by bicycle on the 20th by road. A cultural team of 3 will also join us from Karkata on the same day.

We started this journey of 10 people from Calcutta Press Club on 15th February. We are holding a bicycle rally for the tenth time through the Benapole border of Jessore for the purpose of Dhaka.

Anirban Saha and Sudeep Das, members of the bicycle traveling team, said that Salam, Rafiq, Shafiq Jabbar gave their lives for their mother tongue. We are the first in this group. It would be nice if you can give a garland to Shaheed Minar.

We will reach Dhaka on Wednesday 20th February via cycle rally from Magura to Faridpur, Rajbari, Manikganj. Then on February 21, we will return to Kolkata after seeing the house number 32 of The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu with flowers to honor language martyrs at Central Shahid Minar.
