10 fraudsters held in Dhaka

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday night arrested ten fraudsters from the city in connection with cheating helpless patients.

RAB 2 Commanding Officer (CO) Lt Col Ashique Billah confirmed the matter on Thursday.
He said, “On information, a team of RAB-2 conducted a special operation at the Prime Orthopedic and General Hospital and Digital Diagnostic Centre in the capital on Wednesday night.”
RAB personnel arrested ten alleged fraudsters from there, he added.

Later, executive magistrate of RAB Sarwar Alam conducted a mobile court. The court sent them to jail on different periods.

The mobile court also fined the hospitals Taka 22 lakh.
According to the RAB officials , fraudsters were often bringing the helpless patients to the various private hospitals by giving them wrong information.

Later they in association with some doctors and brokers, used to admit the patients to those private hospitals in the city.

Lt Col Ashique Billah said, “The fraudsters were caught red handed while they were admitting the patients to private hospitals.”
