Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in Dhaka and Chattogram on Tuesday afternoon amid growing tensions over the deteriorating law and order situation.
Shariful Islam, public relations officer of BGB, confirmed it.
Four platoons of BGB have been deployed in Dhaka's Shahbagh, Hotel Intercontinental intersection and Motsya Bhaban area while six other platoons have been deployed in the port city, he said.
Tensions have been prevailing in the capital due to recent blockade programmes, demonstrations and clashes causing immense suffering to the city residents.
