One person was killed and 25 others were injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Khoksha Upazila in Kushtia on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mosaddek Ali Sheikh, 36, a passenger of the bus and resident of Kamlapur area in the Upazila. He was an employee Bangladesh Naval Aviation.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khoksha Thana ABM Mehedi Masud said the accident occurred this noon in Shimulia Kuthibari area on Kushtia-Rajbari Road as the driver of the bus lost his control over the steering. Mosaddek died on the spot.
The injured passengers were given primary treatment and the body was sent to Khoksha hospital.
