Bangladesh registered one death from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday. The total number of deaths rose to 28,051 with one addition to the latest figure.
The country recorded 291 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,581,634, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The current positivity rate stands at 1.39 percent. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.99 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. Around 20,909 samples were tested across the country till 8am Tuesday.
The sole deceased was from Dhaka, added the release.
Some 264 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,546,071 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.75 percent.
As of Tuesday, 5,379,811 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 275,900,600 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
