1 Covid death in 24 hours

Bangladesh registered one death from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths rose to 28,048 with one addition to the latest figure.

The country recorded 211 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,581,083, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday. 

The current positivity rate stands at 1.22 percent. The overall positivity rate stands at 14.03 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. Around 17,332 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday. 

The sole deceased was a man from Dhaka aged between 51-60, added the release. 

Some 168 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,545,571 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.75 percent.

As of Sunday, 5,368,732 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 274,633,041 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
