Bangladesh registered 1,950 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 35 more deaths till 8am of Tuesday.
During the period, 3,290 patients were declared free of the virus, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) daily update.
Some 12,209 samples were tested in 92 labs across the country in the last 24 hours.
With the update, the total number of Cvoid-19 cases stood at 314,946 in Bangladesh, deaths 4,316 and recoveries 208,177.
Among the latest deceased, 21 were men and 14 were women. Three of them died at home and the rest at different health facilities.
Fourteen of them were from Dhaka, seven from Chattogram, three each from Khulna and Rajshahi, two from Barishal, one from Sylhet and Mymensingh, and four from Rangpur and.
Bangladesh confirmed the disease first on March 8 and the first death on March 18. The WHO declared the disease pandemic on March 11.
The recovery rate is 66.10 percent so far while the death rate 1.37 percent, among the total confirmed cases.
Currently, 52,015 people are quarantined across the country – including 2,131 newly-quarantined individuals. The authorities placed 629 new individuals suspected of having Covid-19 into isolation in the last 24 hours.
Bangladesh tested 15,62,412 samples so far since January to trace patients with Covid-19. The virus emerged in China first in December.
